Carroll Food Intolerance
The Carroll Food Intolerance Evaluation is a powerful tool used in naturopathic medicine to uncover the unique foods that an individual’s body struggles to metabolize efficiently.
Unlike standard allergy or food sensitivity tests, which focus on immune responses, the Carroll method identifies foods that disrupt digestion and create metabolic stress, leading to inflammation, fatigue, and chronic health issues. For this reason, Dr. Linzi does not utilize food allergy or sensitivity tests as she does not find them clinically reliable or helpful and the immune system is always changing and those methods are not a root cause approach.
From a naturopathic perspective,
the Carroll Food Intolerance evaluation aligns with the principle of addressing the root cause of illness by recognizing that poor digestion and improper food metabolism are often at the core of symptoms like bloating, weight gain, skin conditions, and hormonal imbalances.
The evaluation is based on the understanding that when the body cannot fully break down certain foods, it creates byproducts that burden the body’s systems, contributing to toxicity and inflammation over time. By identifying and eliminating these intolerant foods, patients often experience improvements in energy, digestion, mental clarity, and overall well-being.
As a naturopathic doctor, I appreciate the bio-individuality of this method – it reflects how each person’s body is unique and requires a personalized approach. The results help guide targeted dietary changes that restore balance, promote healing, and prevent future illness, making it an essential part of holistic, patient-centered care.
